On November 8, the Northeast Asian History Foundation hosted the 2024 NAHF Forum at Lotte Hotel Seoul, under the theme "The Path to Historical Reconciliation: Choices for Europe and Asia." National Assembly Member Kim Min-jeon and Vice Minister of Education Oh Seok-hwan attended the forum and highlighted its purpose and significance in their speeches.

The forum compared historical conflicts and their resolutions in Europe and Asia from a cross-historical perspective. While reconciliation efforts to resolve historical conflicts have been actively pursued in Europe, applying these European examples directly to Asia is challenging. However, through comparative case studies, the forum discussed new approaches to resolving historical issues in the Asian region.

The forum is expected to serve as an important platform for meaningful discussions on resolving historical issues in East Asia, drawing from the historical reconciliation experiences of both Europe and Asia.
