The title examines the significance of East Sea and Ulleungdo in Korean history. Korean peninsula stretches from north to south, and the Taebaek Mountains on the east side of the peninsula hampered exchanges between regions. In this context, East Sea and Ulleungdo served as channel and passage, connecting people and regions and facilitating cultural and logistics exchanges. It is considered that they laid the foundation for the prototype of Korean culture. With the discovery of Uljin Bongpyeong Silla Monument, Yeong'il Naengsoori Silla Monument, Pohang Joongseongri Silla Monument etc, ancient society in the eastern coastal areas of Korea is at the focus of attention. Against this backdrop, various projects including surface exploration and excavation in East Sea and Ulleungdo are being carried out. The title analyzes recent research findings and reveals another aspect of history and culture in this area. In particular, the title focuses on the era of the three Kingdoms, and helps readers identify the culture of people who lived in the eastern coastal areas in this period.
