The Northeast Asian History Foundation held the 2025 Korea-China Academic Seminar on History and Archaeology on Thursday, August 21, at the Foundation’s main conference hall. Under the theme “History and Cultural Exchanges in Ancient Northeast Asia,” the seminar explored interchanges, conflicts, and shifts in the regional order from the turn of the Common Era up to the 10th century, through the perspectives of history and archaeology.

The seminar was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on “Korea-China Exchanges and Conflicts in East Asia,” while the second session addressed “Changes in East Asian International Relations after the 7th Century.” Each presentation was followed by in-depth discussions, during which the latest research findings from Korean and Chinese academia were actively shared. The seminar served as a forum where scholars of different nationalities, languages, and perspectives exchanged research, engaged in critical reviews, and sought common ground—ultimately fostering academic progress through lively debate.

President Jihang Park of the Foundation stated, “Although this conference is centered on the past of Northeast Asia, I hope it will also serve as a venue for fostering cooperation in future research on the region.”
