The foundation received applications from hopeful history teachers Dec. 1-5 and notified the results through the foundation homepage in Dec. 10 and official letters to the schools.
The envisioned setup of East Asia-related subjects in 2012 has significance in that it is the first initiated by the nation with the goal of self-reliant overcoming of the history conflict among the three nations in Northeast Asia – Korea, China and Japan – and opening the peaceful future in East Asia.
The incoming training session is meaningful as it lays the groundwork for the newly-launched subjects, maximizes the training performance via curriculum formation based on the demand from history education front and provides stage for strengthening network for exchanges of teachers and experts.
The foundation plans to provide more chances for the training sessions by classifying the program into three categories of basic-medium-advanced levels, extending the coverage to nationwide until the year 2012.
