The Unyo’s Survey of Korean Coasts and the Korea-Japanese Treaty of Amity Years ending in 5 often mark anniversaries of significant historical events. Examples include the 1875 Unyo Incident, the 1885 Tianjin Treaty, the 1895 Treaty of Shimonoseki, the 1905 Portsmouth Treaty, and the Eulsa Treaty. Among these events, this article addresses the Unyo Incident. the armed provocation by the Japanese warship Unyo against the Korean military in Ganghwa Island, and examines the background of the subsequent conclusion of the Korea- Japanese Treaty of Amity.

Conflicts and Cooperation Surrounding UNESCO World Heritage Inscription : the 2024 International Conference on Japan's Modern Industrial Heritage On July 27, 2024, UNESCO's World Heritage Committee officially designated Japan's Sado Mines in Niigata Prefecture as a World Heritage Site. To examine the various conflicts and resolutions associated with World Heritage inscriptions, the Foundation hosted an international academic conference. This article provides a detailed account of the "2024 International Conference on Japan's Modern Industrial Heritage," held at the Foundation's main conference hall on November 19, 2024.

Meeting Ahn Jung-geun in Harbin Harbin's exotic landscape today reflects Russian cultural influences. In 1909, Ahn Jung-geun assassinated Ito Hirobumi, the architect of the Eulsa Treaty, at Harbin Station. What led Ahn and Ito to encounter each other in a third space, outside Korea or Japan? This article revisits the legacy of Ahn Jung-geun at the Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall in Harbin.
