The Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul Institute for Lifelong Education on June 17 (Wednesday) to jointly promote projects related to Northeast Asian history and culture, as well as Dokdo.

This agreement was established to combine the Foundation’s accumulated expertise in research on Northeast Asian history, culture, and Dokdo with the Seoul Institute for Lifelong Education’s lifelong learning network and infrastructure. Through this collaboration, the two organizations aim to foster accurate historical awareness among Seoul citizens and enhance their humanities literacy.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will jointly plan and operate educational programs on Northeast Asian history, culture, and Dokdo for citizens. They will also cooperate in various areas, including connecting experts for specialized education and research, sharing educational content, and supporting collaborative educational and research initiatives. In addition, both organizations will make mutual use of their facilities, spaces, and resources, while working together on participant recruitment and program promotion.

Through this partnership, Seoul citizens are expected to gain easier and more systematic access to educational content related to Northeast Asian history and Dokdo in their daily lives.

Chung Yong-sang, Secretary General of the Foundation, stated, “This agreement marks a meaningful starting point for expanding accurate understanding of Northeast Asian history, culture, and Dokdo, while providing citizens with high-quality opportunities for history education. We will continue to work closely with the Seoul Institute for Lifelong Education to enhance historical awareness and contribute to the promotion of lifelong learning among citizens.”
