The Northeast Asian History Foundation's Dokdo Experience Center welcomed its 1 millionth cumulative visitor on July 26. The milestone comes approximately 14 years after the center first opened in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, in 2012, reflecting the public's continued interest in learning about Dokdo's history, natural environment, and the value of Korea's territorial sovereignty through firsthand experiences.

To commemorate the occasion, the Dokdo Experience Center presented the 1 millionth visitor with a bouquet of flowers and commemorative gifts, followed by a celebratory photo session. The milestone visitors were Mr. Kevin Kimm and his family, Korean Americans residing in Los Angeles (LA), United States.

Mr. Kimm said, "We visit Korea with our family every school vacation. While visiting museums and art galleries to introduce our children to Korean history and culture, we decided to come to the Dokdo Experience Center today so they could learn about Dokdo. We are delighted to have become the 1 millionth visitors unexpectedly, and the exhibitions helped us gain a deeper and more vivid understanding of Dokdo's history and significance."

The Dokdo Experience Center has established itself as Korea's leading exhibition and educational venue dedicated to Dokdo by offering a wide range of interactive exhibitions and educational programs that help visitors easily and enjoyably understand Dokdo's history, natural environment, present, and future. It continues to expand content tailored to visitors of all ages, especially children and youth, serving as a central hub for Dokdo education.

The Foundation will continue to expand exhibitions and educational content that communicate the history, natural environment, and significance of Korea's territorial sovereignty over Dokdo in an accurate and accessible manner. Through diverse hands-on programs and educational initiatives, it will further enhance public understanding of Dokdo, particularly among future generations.
