NAHF's stance on Diplomatic Bluebook 2019 of Japan

""

On May 22, NAHF announced that it should face historical facts and move forward in the future in connection with the Japanese government's Diplomatic Bluebook. It is a diplomatic white paper that describes the Japanese government's perception of diplomatic situations, prospects, and international situation. The white paper, released this year, states that 'the ROK is an important neighboring country'. However, Japan described Dokdo as ‘Takeshima, which is an inherent part of the territory of Japan’, and said that “ROK’s occupation of Takeshima, such as letting the guards reside in, is illegal and has no international legal basis.” NAHF expressed concern about the Japanese government's unreasonable claim on the sovereignty of Dokdo and the lack of historical awareness. And we urged Japan not to repeat distorted claims and to face history for the friendship between the two countries and the peace of East Asia.
