The Dokdo Museum Seoul conducts theoretical education
through online platform for junior docents
The NAHF Dokdo Museum Seoul conducted real-time online theoretical education for junior docents consisting of 37 middle and high school students on July 11-12. On July 11, after orientation such as docent activities and self-introduction through the remote video conference platform(ZOOM), Kim Young-soo, a researcher, gave a lecture on 'History of Dokdo in Video'. It was a lecture on the basis of proving that Dokdo is a Korean territory geographically, internationally and historically.
On July 12, we held a quiz contest, and we had time to listen to the story of former junior docent and learn the exhibition commentary technique and know-how. Junior docents, who completed the training this time, will carry out various activities to announce Dokdo soon.

Guide to the Summer Vacation Program at the Dokdo Museum Seoul
The Dokdo Museum Seoul and Dokdo Exhibition Hall(Gwanghwamun), which were temporarily closed as COVID-19, reopened on July 22. For the time being, it is only possible to enter through advance reservation and on-site registration, and exhibition commentary and face-to-face programs are not conducted. However, we will continue to run non-face-to-face programs linked to middle and high schools.
In August, we are conducting a special summer vacation program for visitors for a month. We will present souvenirs and experiential activity kits to visitors who have completed the project using workbooks and online education materials. (Call 02-2012-6100)
The 13th Working Council of the Public-Private Cooperation Committee
for correcting errors related to Korea overseas and expanding technology
NAHF held the 13th Working Council of the Public-Private Cooperation Committee on June 24 to gather opinions from private organizations. The meeting, presided over by the Ministry of Education, was attended by NAHF, The Korean Geographical Society, The Society for East Sea, VANK(Voluntary Agency Network of Korea), SAYUL(Say About Beautiful Korea Properly), The Dokdo Institute at Yeungnam University.
This working council is to increase mutual cooperation between the government and private organizations to correct international errors related to Korea, including issues related to Dokdo and the East Sea, and to expand technology. This time, we discussed how to promote the Korean government's response to COVID-19 to the world, monitoring the East Sea and Dokdo marking on public and private websites with NAHF as the control tower, developing a global petition movement related to Hashima Island, and promoting the education center for Dokdo native plants in Yeungnam University. In the future, NAHF will listen to the voices of citizens and experts and will cooperate in various ways.

『Source Book on issues of Sexual slavery victims for the Japanese imperial army』 1, 2
NAHF published the first and second volumes of 『Source Book on issues of Sexual slavery victims for the Japanese imperial army』. This book, which is planned as part of a project to compiles the study of the reality of Japanese colonial rule, contains 70 original documents and translations related to Sexual slavery victims for the Japanese imperial army. This book consists of the first volume containing data showing that the Japanese military and the Japanese government recruited and transported the ‘Sexual slavery victims’, and the second volume containing data showing how the operation of the ‘comfort station’ and the crimes related to the ‘Sexual slavery victims’ were punished after the war.
This source book is arranged to make it easy to see the data related to 'Sexual slavery victims' until 2019, and at the beginning of each book, We tried to help improve the understanding of the readers by including the explanations of Nam Sang-gu and Cho Yoon-soo, researchers of NAHF, who analyzed the data. The readers can confirm that the mobilization of 'Sexual slavery victims', the installation and management of ‘comfort stations’ were led by the Japanese government as well as the Japanese military, there was illegal activities in the process through the official documents contained in this book.
