Celebrate ‘Northeast Asian History and Territory Week’
In the early 20th century, imperial Japan invaded the Korean peninsula, including Dokdo. Japan's claim of sovereignty over Dokdo is to claim the rights to past occupied territories and the rights to the territories of past colonies. This is a denial of Korea's complete liberation and independence. If Japan stops claiming sovereignty over Dokdo, it can resolve the conflict between Korea and Japan. We hope that Korea and Japan will cooperate in achieving peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia based on the right historical awareness.
