NAHF-The Korea Craft and Design Foundation(KCDF) has signed a business agreement
On June 21, NAHF signed a business agreement with KCDF(President Kim Tae-hoon). In the future, the two organizations will collaborate in various fields such as △ research on Korean costume history, holding academic conferences and meetings, △ co-promotion of the History and Dokdo Week (10.19.~25.) and the Hanbok Culture Week(10.12.~18.).
The agreement was signed to spread the right information about the history of Korea and hanbok. There was a consensus between the two organizations that mutual cooperation was needed, such as joint research and exchange of experts. The signing ceremony held at NAHF was attended by Lee Young-ho, president of NAHF, and Kim Tae-hoon, president of KCDF, and officials from both organizations.
The two organizations will promote joint research and academic exchanges on Korean costume history and spread contents related to hanbok culture education for elementary, middle and high school students. In addition, NAHF-KCDF agreed to cooperate widely in all the projects currently underway, including the History and Dokdo Week and the Hanbok Cultural Week. NAHF-KCDF will promote the history of Korea and value of hanbok throughout the world through collaboration.
NAHF recruits 2021 Online Supporters
NAHF will recruit 2021 Online Supporters from June 22 to July 7 to properly inform Northeast Asian history and territorial issues. The four Online Supporters to be selected in the future will be active for four months from August to December 2021. The main activities of Supporters are covering NAHF's main projects, producing a variety of content, and translating the subtitles of NAHF's video on YouTube into English.
It will be screened through documents and interviews and the results will be released in early August. Online Supporters can participate in projects or events hosted by NAHF, and perform various activities such as working for one day on NAHF's promotional team and reviews on new books. We expect 2021 Online Supporters to promote NAHF's projects and historical issues online.
NAHF is receiving an application for the 2021 Dokdo Prize winner
NAHF is receiving applications for the 2021 Dokdo Prize winner. The purpose of the Dokdo Prize is to reward individuals or organizations who have contributed to academic research and activities related to Dokdo, and to continuously promote people's interest in Dokdo.
The Dokdo Prize started in 2009, and marks its 12th anniversary this year. A total of 34 people(including individuals and organizations) have been awarded, including researchers, civic groups, teachers and students. The fields are divided into 'The Dokdo Academic Prize' and 'The Dokdo Love Prize'. The Dokdo Academic Prize will be awarded to one person(the prize money of 5 million won), ‘The Dokdo Love Prize’ will be awarded to one team(the prize money of 4 million won) and one individual(the prize money of 2 million won).
The subject of the Dokdo Academic Prize is a person(or team) who publishes books(including translation) related to Dokdo in the academic field, or has excellent research results. And the Dokdo Love Prize is awarded to those who have contributed to the widespread and introduction of Dokdo in non-academic fields such as education, culture, publicity, and NGOs. A training program(basic course) for teachers on the subject of 'East Asian History' is conducted
NAHF conducts training programs to help secondary school teachers understand the subject of 'East Asian history' and improve the expertise of guidance. This is the first training program of the year. The curriculum was organized on the modernity of Joseon, China, Japan, and Vietnam under the theme of 'Modernity of Four East Asian Countries'.
The first team was educated on June 12 and 19, and the second team will be educated on July 10 and 17. Because of Covid-19, the training was conducted in real time by communicating online with attendees. Meanwhile, an advanced course is planned for the second half of this year. In the future, NAHF will continue to work to help educate about 'East Asian History' subjects.
