2021 is called the Year of the White Cow. With the energy of white cows symbolizing abundance and diligence, I hope we will gather strength to overcome Covid-19, and be healthy and happy.

Recently, in Northeast Asia, the trend of describing history centered on their own country is spreading, and the history conflicts between countries are intensifying. In this situation, the important task that this era has given us is to protect our history and territory, to create an atmosphere of friendship and to build a peace regime in Northeast Asia.

To solve the historical problem, it is necessary to share the vision of mutual respect and coexistence with neighboring countries based on long-term perspective. NAHF was established in 2006 to develop long-term, comprehensive research and analysis of historical issues and Dokdo-related issues in Northeast Asia, and strategic policies. Since then, NAHF has been striving to resolve historical conflicts by promoting various activities such as systematic research on historical issues, publishing educational books, history education for youth and citizens, and exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutes. NAHF will continue to lead the way in correcting historical distortions and establishing the right historical perception based on high-quality research as the only historical research and response organization in Korea.

Readers, please keep an eye on NAHF with interest and affection so that the historical conflicts in Northeast Asia can be resolved and a permanent peace regime can be settled through the constant efforts of NAHF. If their activities are wrong, please be scolded and send valuable opinions. The Ministry of Education will also actively support NAHF to open the era of peace and coexistence in Northeast Asia.
