Education for the Dokdo Exhibition Commentator
NAHF operated the Dokdo Exhibition Commentator Training Course. This is a program to support the Dokdo exhibition halls nationwide to be operated as effective educational places and to train Dokdo-related professional commentators. 35 Dokdo exhibition hall officials and ordinary citizens completed 30 online education from May 6 to June 1, and visited Ulleungdo and Dokdo for four days from October 28 to 31. Finally, a total of 21 people completed the Dokdo exhibition commentator training course, and ordinary citizens will be working as an commentator of the Dokdo Museum through the deepening process.
'Dokdo School of KOREA' Teacher Visits Ulleungdo and Dokdo
NAHF conducted a tour of Ulleungdo and Dokdo in two sessions from October 29 to November 1 and November 5 to 8 for 50 teachers of 'Dokdo School of KOREA' in 2020. This visit was accompanied by professional medical personnel as well as thorough compliance with the Covid-19 preventive guidelines and using masks and sanitizers. In addition, SNS for participants was operated to enable real-time communication, and the contents of Dokdo club activities(non-face-to-face educational activities) were shared. This visit was an opportunity to raise awareness of Dokdo by teachers and to expand their expertise to spread understanding and interest in Dokdo.
The 5th NAHF Chairman Kim Do-hyung Retires
On November 5, the 5th NAHF Chairman Kim Do-hyung retired after three years of office. We have set up a place to convey a plaque of appreciation to the chairman who devoted himself to NAHF.
Kim said “When I took office as chairman, I presented balanced historical awareness, policy development familiar with international affairs, sharing the right historical awareness, and management innovation through fairness and autonomy. I’m sorry I didn’t get enough of these, but I leave with a heart of gratitude and good memories for the people I’ve worked with.”
He also said he hoped NAHF would become a more important institution, discuss projects in a large framework and resolve them from a broad perspective. And he urged employees to strengthen our status and role as a public institution, to improve the public's perception of history and to fulfill our social role.
Teacher Training for Elementary and Secondary Teachers
NAHF conducted teacher training for 34 elementary and junior high school teachers selected from 17 provincial and provincial offices of education from October 23 to October 26. The collective training was replaced by online education, and the Dokdo tour was conducted while thorough prevention and countermeasures against infectious diseases were prepared. As a result of the survey conducted on 29 people, they showed high satisfaction in strengthening their competence such as cultivating knowledge about Dokdo, improving professionalism, and changing awareness level. In addition, there were many opinions that the training would continue every year so that teachers could actively utilize the contents of the training in Dokdo-related classes.
